Meet the founders

       Julie Audet and Josée Thibault

Julie obtained her Law Degrees from the University of Ottawa, National Program (LL.B./LL.L.), with the highest honours. As a National Program graduate, Julie has a legal training in both Common Law (English Canada) and Civil Law (Quebec). Julie is currently completing her Family Law Master’s Degree with the University of York, Osgoode Hall, and she teaches family law at the University of Ottawa since 2008.
After completing her studies, Julie articled with a national law firm in private practice before accepting a clerkship with the Federal Court of Appeal. Julie was a partner with an Ottawa law firm for over ten years before setting up her own family law firm in 2011 (http://www.julieaudet.com/).  She is part of various committees comprising of family lawyers, judges and members of the community who are continuously trying to improve the family law justice system and make it more accessible to family law litigants.

Josée obtained her Law Degree from the University of Ottawa, Common Law Program (LL.B.).  Before attending law school, Josée also completed with the highest honours a Bachelor of Arts at the Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario, with a specialization in education.  After completing her law studies, Josée articled with Sullivan Mahoney, the largest law firm in the Niagara region, where she focused on civil, criminal and family law issues.  Since her admission to the Ontario Bar in 1996, Josée is employed with the Federal Government of Canada.  A strong advocate of social issues and equality rights, Josée has been a board member of various non-profit organizations to end violence against women.  Having experienced recently the hostile and stress-filled environment of the family law justice system during the course of her own separation, Josée is now using her experience to teach in a simplified and effective way the basic principles of family law.  Her motivation, leadership and humour also inspires you to move forward, one decision at a time.
